What Kills Us This Week! Australia!.

Poor Australia. Pitiful e-mails from both ends. North Queensland under flood and Southern Australia suffering the most atrocious heat wave. Don't know who to feel sorrier for!

And, if that's not bad enough, in NQ crocodiles have moved in for the kill, and there's even one lurking behind the public library in Ingham and residents are being warned not to change library books. Only kidding! They're actually being told to stay out of the water in the area. Should find you the news article on the subject.

And, in the South, the power has failed and they're saying that the weather will continue unabated for at least another week. Should find you Gerald's letter on the subject. He is suffering horribly; a legacy of being sent to an English boarding school.

However, dear friends and family, now that I've acknowledged how awful your lives are at the moment, I have to share this with you. It may even cheer you up and make you think "Gosh, heat waves are such a blessing!"

Koalas, right? Reclusive creatures! Rarely more than glimpsed. Well, here's one found sheltering from the swelter on a back veranda. Since it was so obviously stressed, she poured it a bucket of water, and here's what happened:
Too, too, too cute?

Want another one? OK, just one more:
