Beccy's Holiday. For Jane.

Jane, treasure, love Beccy and we're having lots of fun:

Highlights: Beccy needed a warm winter jacket for London, which is apparently freezing, so, suspecting she might be my sort of bargain hunter, I took her around Johnston Road Sample Shops and she turned out to be our first HK visitor who wasn't too proud to rummage and so scored herself the most amazing ...

... 'Seditionaries' jacket.

It's an original Vivien Westwood punk rocker jacket from the 80s; a totally iconic piece of museum-worthy punk history (and as a former punk rocker she totally appreciated it) that's worth zillions of dollars and will make her the envy of all the Londoners at her final destination.  And the price? NZ$20.

She also found a lime green Gucci swing coat worth tens of thousands but only priced at NZ$500. which she adored but couldn't justify spending that amount so early in her travels so had to let it pass.

See what surfeit of riches you and so many other visiting friends miss out on with by your sneering refusal to rummage through sample shops?

And the other very funny incident was when we went up to The Peak to see the view.

What we saw was:

Yup, the moment we got to the top the mist set in ...

... we waited a long time for it to clear but alas, all we got from the Lookout was over an hour of this:

In the end, a kindly old lady showed Beccy what she would have seen normally ...

... so now Beccy wants to go back and give today a do-over later in the week.

Of course, I can't promise she'll score another Vivien Westwood jacket, but the rest we can most likely do.

Today, we're off to the Big Buddha.  At least, she's off to the Big Buddha.  I'm staying down below at the Monastery to do the sukako and drink tea.
