Sad Day for Fiji

Did you hear?

So ... well, at least Ratu Epeli is a good guy, that's all I can say!

No, let's add something. Ratu Epeli is the principal son of the Nailatikau family who were the previous kings of Fiji for thousands of years until couped off the throne by the Cakobau ancestors back in the 18th century. And here's something about them that blew me away as a kid when I made the connection. The name Nailatikau means "Root of the Tree", and if you translate that into Latin it's "Plantagenet", which is, you'll recall, the name of the family who ruled Europe for over a thousand years.

Pretty strange co-incidence, huh?
